The U.S. Mint in Philadelphia produced 1,105 Proof gold dollars in 1885, only 33 of which survive with Deep Cameo contrast! Wonderfully reflective fields exhibit a subtle orange peel texture and provide sharp contrast against the frosty design elements. Virtually pristine and displaying a uniform yellow-gold color, both sides are fully impressed, as one would expect from the care taken to manufacture these beauties.
