The 1874 is one of the more available eagles from the decade, yet just 53,160 coins were struck. Mint State survivors, however, are quite scarce. The present coin is bested by only 11 finer at PCGS, with the finest being a rather humble MS65+. Although the typical chatter is present, the eye appeal is quite pleasing. Ideal medium-golden surfaces boast light rose hues and nice luster. - Liberty Head $10
