The total mintage of 1805 Half Dollars was 211,722 coins, however, overdate examples are rare, especially in Mint State, and are eagerly sought. The current example comes from a population of one with just four finer making it an absolute condition census survivor! The underlying 4 is easily visible to the naked eye. While it is not on the holder, this piece is a stunning example of the Overton 101 variety. Steely-grey surfaces swirl with amazing luster and complete originality. Peach hints accent the lovely surfaces and enhance the eye appeal quite nicely. Details are strong from a complete strike.
