Ike dollars are plagued by unstruck areas and rather unsightly planchets, often displaying large marks and excessive chatter. Perhaps this is why the collector base is still so massive for what many consider to be one of the poorest U.S. coin designs. The present example displays incredibly beautiful rainbow toning, which serves to enhance the booming mint luster. Precious few bag marks and unstruck areas can be found!
