A wonderful first year of issue and an important transitional year as the U.S. Mint moved from the Barber design to the "Winged Liberty" design that initially confused the public due to its similarity to the Greek god Mercury. Deep blue and sienna tones streak across the obverse, but are mostly confined to the obverse and reverse peripherals. Silky luster beams throughout with no mentionable marks or abrasions.
