A mere 11,500 examples of the 1866 $10 Liberty were struck at the San Francisco Mint, and few survived being melted down. A rather impressive eight examples are graded UNC, including two in MS66! The present piece is solidly in the top 20 in existence and displays even, lemon gold coloration and nice remaining mint luster for the grade and solid AU eye appeal.
