A coin we rarely have the pleasure of offering, the 1868-S Seated quarter is a very scarce issue from a mintage of 96,000, virtually all of which entered commerce at the time of delivery and remained there until worn out or lost. This select example is delightfully smooth for the assigned grade and bathed in pleasing light rose-gold and lilac-grey tones. The strike is largely sharp and the overall eye appeal impressive.
