The 1859-O comes from a low mintage of only 260,000 pieces. The present example is a true condition census gem from a population of four with three finer across all major grading services. This piece bears slight peripheral weakness on the obverse stars, typical for New Orleans Mint products, however, central devices are pleasingly bold. Aquamarine, peach, and lavender tones plate both sides and are enhanced by abundant satin luster. Very appealing!
