The 1877-CC Trade Dollar had a healthy striking of 534,000 coins, but the date is very scarce and underappreciated due to the number of pieces that were melted shortly thereafter and in China where they were used for trade. Sharply struck surfaces feature bold details and minimal handling marks. Light gold surfaces throughout are coated in a two-toned grey patina on the obverse with the reverser remaining bright. Luster glows from obverse devices in a pleasing display, however, the reverse boasts impeccable bright luster rotating across the surface. Scarce at this choice level! - Trade Dollar
