The "small berry" proofs are considered restrikes, and those with a doubled "T" in CENT, like the present piece, are the first restrikes. Unknown mintage numbers add to the mystique, however, the mintage is likely less than 20! Healthy luster illuminates the gem surfaces. Pleasing red color remaining is overlaid with bright teal-blue and violet hues. A few deeper spots of toning are seen on the obverse.
