Just 96 Liberty Eagle pieces were struck in proof format in 1903. The current example survived a brief stint in circulation before being pulled by an observant individual, no doubt. Flashy surfaces are medium gold in coloration and have a slightly deeper hue in the open fields due to the circulation chatter. High point wear is minimal and strong details are visible.
