Hailing from a relatively small mintage of 206,524 pieces, the 1886-S dime saw heavy commercial use leaving this an elusive issue, especially at the present level of preservation. Fully struck surfaces are beautifully lustrous beneath an array of rainbow tones. A great piece for the series specialist. Only about 15 finer examples are known, but not all have passed muster at CAC/CACG. - Liberty Seated Dime
