A better date/mint combination that is underrated and very tough in Gem condition. Only nine coins have been graded finer across all major grading services from a mintage of 329,000 coins. A few incredible pieces, a single MS68+ and two MS69s, are known at PCGS but are unobtainable for most registry collectors. The present gem offers high quality and relative affordability. Medium gold surfaces radiate with strong cartwheel luster and remain completely untoned. Sharp details are appreciable and no individually distracting marks are worthy of mention.
