A very rare variety, and highly elusive Rarity 5. This is the only die marriage with the Large Letters reverse but often fools the uneducated, as all 1830 die pairings have rather hefty reverse letters. The key to a true O-114 Large Letters is the final E in STATES and the first A in AMERICA being taller than the letters next to them, almost as if they are about to reach the rim. For an XF, this coin is essentially perfect and has a great appearance. A whisper of original luster survives against the devices. Only a couple of minor marks hidden on the reverse are worth mentioning, but they certainly do not land this coin in a "details" holder. A handsome, higher grade, important rarity that is coveted by all Capped Bust enthusiasts. - Capped Bust Half Dollar
