While the business strike mintage was increased for the year, the 1864 Seated Liberty Dollar remains a scarce and desirable date in the series. The present example is a conditional rarity and likely a top-five census example as PCGS reports just four finer. A thin, toned-in scratch on the right obverse is well hidden but probably what kept this gem out of what would have otherwise been an easy CAC sticker.
