A boldly struck gem-plus proof trime, rarely seen at this level of preservation and minted during a terrifying and humbling time in our nation's history. Subtle cameo contrast remains, though not enough to garner the designation. Amber and russet colors dominate the peripheries and melt into gold and sea green and lilac centers, especially on the obverse. PCGS reports only two numerically finer examples, both coming to the market in recent years. - Three Cent Silver
