An exciting variety where the date digits were punched into the dies backward and upside down, then corrected by a Mint employee! Of the 16,700 Liberty Eagles minted this year, an unknown amount show the inverted date. It seems, however, that this variety is slightly more rare than the regular strike. As usual, the strike is quite weak, yet the three underlying digits can still be seen! Pleasant remaining luster glows from the lightly and evenly worn surfaces. - Liberty Head $10
