1801 50C PCGS AU58
PCGS has certified just four examples finer from a low mintage of just 30,289 coins. One obverse die was struck with two reverse dies for the date. The present piece is the more common reverse that shows AM in AMERICA joined at the bottom as well as two die bulges below the N in UNITED. Wear is virtually undiscernible with just slight friction on the highest points. Rose, lavender, and gold tones coat both sides and are deeper on the reverse. Details are razor-sharp on both sides with bright luster that suggests a higher grade. A lovely early half dollar with strong eye appeal, this slider will make a great addition to any collection! Although not noted on the holder, this is an Overton 101 variety! - Draped Bust Half Dollar
