The 1818/5 Quarter Dollar is one of ten die varieties of the year, and it is the only one which shows an overdate. An example of the Browning 3, this charming AU shares the same obverse die as the 1818/5 B-1, but B-3 was struck later and shows little evidence of a 5 under digit. Problem-free surfaces are toned a natural gunmetal-gray with subtle steely-blue accents though the high points are cream-white. Touches of underlying luster are apparent in hand and make for an overall pleasing example of this desirable overdate. - Capped Bust Quarter
